Welcome Back!

We are excited to welcome back our Downtown Berkeley, and Oakland members for indoor workouts!

Outdoor Fitness and Outdoor Swimming are available at the Pleasant Hill YMCA.

Due to recent restrictions from Contra Costa Health Services, our Pleasant Hill and Richmond Parkway branches are closed for indoor workouts.

Albany members are welcome to work out at either the Downtown Berkeley YMCA, or the Richmond Parkway YMCA.

If you're ready to return to the Y, we're ready to welcome you back safely. Like all organizations, reopening will look a little different. Read on to learn what you can expect when you return to the Y, and the protocols and procedures we have in place to keep you safe!

Staying Safe Together

Entrance Screening Process
You may arrive up to 10 minutes before your scheduled session to begin the entrance screening process. A staff person will be administering forehead temperature checks and seeking verbal confirmation that members are free of COVID 19 symptoms.

Social Distancing/Masking
We will be strictly adhering to social distancing protocol. In most cases the equipment is spaced 10 ft apart and we ask members to workout 10 ft from others. We require members to wear masks while in the facility and while working out.

Cleaning
We have cleaned every single surface within the Y, and every piece of equipment during our closure.  Cleaning materials will be given to members to sanitize their equipment prior to and after use. Staff will also clean all equipment after each session.

Additional Safety Measures
All staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. In accordance with CDC guidelines regarding travel, we are asking members to stay home from the Y if they have traveled out of state in the last 14 days. Showers will be closed during this time. Bathrooms and water bottle refill stations will remain open. We encourage you to bring as few non-essential items into the gym as possible.
