Things to Know

  • Do not bring sick children to child watch. This includes unusual fatigue, coughing, sneezing, runny nose and eyes, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and sore throat regardless of the cause. We ask that your child be symptom free for 48 hours. Child watch staff reserve the right to refuse a child that appears ill.
  • Children must wear shoes. Infants (non-walkers) are required to have feet covered.
  • Take newly potty-trained children to the restroom and checking your child’s diaper before signing in. Diapers may be changed by parent in child watch bathroom or locker room if needed.
  • Children that are not potty-trained must wear a pull-up or diaper. If trained, underwear must be worn at all times. Staff do not change diapers, but will notify parents of the child’s need for a diaper change.
  • Ensure your child is well fed or nursed before your reservation starts. Child watch staff will not feed children. Parents may be asked to return to feed child, if necessary, outside of child watch.
  • Leave personal toys at home.
  • Remain in the building at all times and in the area, you have designated on the sign-in screen.
  • Respect our 2-hour p/day time limit.

Our YMCA provides and safe and fun environment for your children. Discipline in child watch is based on the principles of positive reinforcement, reasonable expectations, logical consequences, distraction and diversion, and if necessary, supervised removal from the group for a brief time. Our goal is to provide a positive experience for all children; therefore, our policy is to get you if your child cries for more than 10 consecutive minutes.
