A seated class for those who want to increase strength and range of motion as well as improve balance.
A beginning yoga class with a gentle approach to poses, balance and breath.
This safe and supportive program offers classes for all fitness levels to address heart problems, diabetes, vascular disorder, high blood pressure, stroke-risk, and weight issues. Supervised by Cardiac nurses and YMCA exercise instructors, you will be given workouts with a cardiovascular/aerobic training component followed by strength training/flexibility/balance cool down. Blood pressure and health checks are available before each class.
In addition, older adults are welcome to participate in all classes and programs at the Y. For all programs, members are encouraged to visit, take part or observe, and ask for advice. Our participants run the range of fitness levels, from those still involved in sports and intense fitness activities, to those who are just returning after injury or chronic issues.
