Enrollment Details

Enrollment is open to all families who qualify for services. We usually have more families apply for our programs than we have the ability to serve, so we rely on criteria to determine who is enrolled first. Our goal is to ensure we serve the neediest families first.

How to Apply

If you have questions or need help filling out the application, please contact us at enroll@ymcaeastbay.org or call (510) 848-9092 for Alameda County, (510) 412-5647 for Contra Costa, Sacramento and Yolo counties.

After Pre-Enrollment

Within two-weeks of receiving your application, the Y will notify you, in writing, whether or not you appear to be eligible for services. You may be asked to provide additional information to help us make this determination, or to establish your enrollment priority.

Notification that your pre-enrollment application has been received does NOT guarantee you a space in our program.

Waiting List

Due to limited spaces and funding, we may not be able to offer enrollment to every child and family that is eligible. In the event that your family is eligible for services and we do not have space available, we will place your child on our waiting list.

Pre-enrollment applications will remain active for 6 months. You will be contacted to renew your application should it expire once openings become available.

Once openings become available, we will contact eligible families in order of enrollment priority. Additional information and forms will be needed prior to child being enrolled.

Cost

There are no fees for Head Start, Early Head Start or State Preschool services if your family meets the income or other eligibility requirements. State subsidized child care has a family fee scale based on your income and family size.
