We're All In This Together

Updated Practices to Promote Wellness

We're adopting practices that support social distancing, not isolation. We're all in this together, and the YMCA is committed to remaining a health hub for our members for as long as we are able.

In this time of uncertainty, we want the YMCA to remain a healthy community refuge for members. We know that exercise boosts immunity and reduces stress, and we want to support that lifestyle now more than ever.

We also want to be mindful of supporting the health and well-being for our entire community. And as such, we've had to make continued  modifications to our operations. We're especially concerned for our senior members and other high risk populations who may be most vulnerable during this time.

We are continually implementing precautions, and here is the latest information for practices at the Oakland Y:

With a collective approach, we can ensure that the cleanliness of our facilities exceeds standards to minimize any potential COVID-19 outbreak. While we cannot guarantee that an exposure will not occur, we are confident that this active approach will allow us to continue to operate, consistent with our guiding principles, for the foreseeable future.

The YMCA will continue to monitor COVID-19 developments as well as CDC, State and local recommendations so that we can adjust our practices in the best interests of our members, Y families, and staff.

Thank you for your continued support of the Y!

Check the Schedule First!

Many of our instructors are having to juggle their schedules with the demands of their families who are impacted by school and work closures due to the virus. Please check our schedule online before you come to the Y to confirm whether your favorite class is available during this time
