Indoor Swimming

Indoor pools at Downtown Berkeley and Oakland Y branches are now open for Lap Swimming and Water Walking! Downtown Berkeley and Oakland Y members age 13+ can reserve 30-40 minute swim sessions below.

Downtown Berkeley Lap Pool Hours:
Mon - Thurs, 6:30am - 6:30pm | Fri, 6:30am - 5:45pm | Sat, 8:00am - 11:45 am

Oakland Lap Pool Hours:
Mon - Thurs, 6:30am - 7:45pm | Fri, 6:30am - 4:45pm | Sat - Sun 8:15am - 1:30pm

Grace’s Pool Hours (Downtown Berkeley):
Mon - Fri, 7:15am - 1:10pm | Sat, 8:15am -11:10am

Key Details to Note:

  • Locker Rooms are open for changing, showering, and day-use lockers are available
  • Bring your own towel – there is no towel service at the Y
  • Showers are required before entering the pool
  • Lap Pool lanes will be shared between two members
  • Lap Pool reservations will be specifically designated as either Lap Swim or Water Walking lanes. Members must sign up for the type of reservation they will be using.
  • Grace’s Pool is a warm water pool and is appropriate for low-to-moderate exercise only. Full lap lanes will not be available in Grace’s Pool.
  • Grace’s Pool reservations will be specifically designated as Shallow End or Deep End. Please select the appropriate pool depth for your ability and desired workout.
  • Grace’s pool reservations are for half a length of the pool. Members may share the full length of the lane if both members mutually agree to do so. Members are not obligated to share the full-length.
  • Please cancel your reservation as early as you can if you are unable to attend. Cancellations can be made through the link in your reservation confirmation email.

Reserve Your Swim Session:
Reserve your session using the YMCA of the East Bay App or the interactive schedule at the bottom of the page. Sessions can be booked 24 hours in advance.


For safety purposes right now, members may only reserve swim sessions at their home branch.

Outdoor Swimming

The outdoor pool at the Pleasant Hill YMCA is open for Lap Swimming and Water Walking and Pleasant Hill Y members age 13+ can reserve a 30 minute swim session below.

The outdoor pool is open:
Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 7:15pm
Friday, 6:00am - 4:45pm
Saturday - Sunday, 8:00am - 1:45pm

Members may reserve their own lap lane, as well as shared lap lanes, which allow for more swimmers per 30 minute session.

Pleasant Hill members can also sign up below for daily Water Aerobics classes, each limited to 35 participants. Sign up below!
