Job Description:
The Development Manager, who reports to the Chief Development Officer, is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the development database management system that supports the capacity to attract, develop, and maintain meaningful relationships with all donors/funders while ensuring integrity of the data. The Development Manager plays a key role in annual campaigns by creating policies and procedures for site directors and managing parts of the total campaign, in coordination with the Chief Development Officer. This role will also provide support for development communications, stewardship activities, and development event planning.


Essential Functions:

  • Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, act as the primary liaison with the branches to help craft the annual campaign strategy, pitch, materials; schedule and help lead trainings, recruit campaign volunteers and coordinate a streamlined, efficient process
  • Manage all donation processes and assist the Chief Development Officer in preparing any financial paperwork, materials, and reports
  • Set up campaign in the Development CRM System, identify, research and/or enter relevant data information into the system and produce reports to support research, cultivation and engagement
  • Prepare materials to communicate with supporters including thank you letters, event reports, and the annual report
  • Run monthly credit card charges and manage refunds.
  • Enter payroll deductions for employee donors, maintaining accuracy with payroll department
  • Deposit funds, prepare year-end tax receipts for donors
  • Provide support to Executive Directors and staff by creation of reports and lists, developing and implementing policies and procedures for campaigns
  • Manage campaign emails: Write fundraising emails, update email banners, manage lists and send emails according to the campaign plan
  • Update and clean Mailing lists for campaign mailings.
  • Additional functions will be shared upon request

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; BA or AA preferred
  • Three years of administrative and campaign management experience in a non-profit setting
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs and office machines necessary to perform the duties of the job
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge software strongly preferred

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Compensation / Total Rewards:
